JROTC - Army at Hillside High School

JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps) is a program designed to encourage high school students to become better citizens, with an emphasis on leadership training and skills building. JROTC helps develop the "whole person" by including financial planning in the curriculum alongside personal responsibility training.

JROTC also sponsors several cadet activities including Color Guard, Drill Teams, Air Rifle Team, and Raiders/PT Team. In addition, the JROTC curriculum includes a challenging physical development component, which includes running and rock climbing.

Although JROTC is based on military experience, cadet participation in the JROTC program does not necessitate military service. The most important aspect of the program to the instructors and administrators is giving students the tools to achieve excellence in all aspects of their lives, whether in business, secondary education, or any other career a cadet may choose.
